The Dundee Library serves the population of the Dundee Central School District, consisting of the Village of Dundee, the Town of Starkey, and parts of the Towns of Barrington, Milo, Reading, Tyrone, and Wayne. This population includes a significant number of summer residents.
The Library's first role is as a popular materials library. To this end, it attempts to meet recreational and educational needs through a collection of book and non-book materials and through access to information through technology. It is also a repository of local history.
An important function of the Library is as a first door to learning for the community's children and youth.
The Dundee Library is a member of the Southern Tier Library System.
